• Old GI water pipes that leak or give rusty water, common in flats more than ten years old.
• Too few electrical points, so the chimney, microwave, mixer and RO run on extension boards.
• Poor exhaust: oil on the walls and ceiling, no proper chimney duct.
• Not enough storage, with no tall unit, no corner solution and open shelves full of jars.

How a kitchen renovation works, step by step

1. Site visit (day 1 to 3). We measure the kitchen, photograph the existing plumbing and wiring, and, in a society, take work permission from the RWA and book lift slots for material.
2. Design and quote (day 4 to 12). A 3D design of the new layout, cabinets, counter and lighting, with up to three free revisions, and an itemised quote in three tiers.
3. Strip the old kitchen (day 13 to 15). Old cabinets, counter and sink come out, and we check the pipes and walls underneath.
4. Plumbing and electrical (day 16 to 19). New CPVC water lines and drains, and five electrical points for the hob, chimney, microwave, mixer and RO. The sink can move if the layout changes.
5. Tiles and paint (day 20 to 25). New backsplash tiles, walls and ceiling painted, then 48 hours for the paint to cure.
6. Cabinets (day 26 to 32). Factory-made cabinets arrive ready to fit: carcass first, then shutters, then hardware, levelled and aligned.
7. Counter, appliances and handover (day 33 to 40). The counter is measured after the cabinets are fixed, then cut and installed, with the chimney, hob, sink, taps and RO. Final cleaning and the warranty card at handover.

Materials and brands we use

• Cabinet body: CenturyPly Sainik BWP, Greenply Ecotec BWP or Kitply marine plywood. No particle board under the sink.
• Hardware: Hettich Quadro or Titan, Blum Tandembox, Hafele soft-close.
