Interior Design Process in Greater Noida — Aarna 10-Step Method
Every interior design firm claims a "process". Most aren't actually structured — clients only find out when timelines slip. Below: the exact 10-step process we follow, with deliverables and timelines per step, used on every Aarna project since 2017.
Aarna's 10-step interior design process: 1) enquiry, 2) site visit, 3) brief, 4) concept, 5) detailed design + 3D, 6) cost lock, 7) civil + electrical, 8) modular install, 9) finishes + paint, 10) handover + warranty. Total: 8-12 weeks for 2BHK/3BHK.
The 10 steps explained
Each step has a defined deliverable and a defined gate — meaning the next step doesn't start until the current step's sign-off is in writing. This is the only reliable way to keep an interior project on schedule.
Step-by-step timeline + deliverable
Every step, what you receive at the end, and how long it typically takes.
| Step | Deliverable | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Enquiry & first response | Acknowledgement + scheduling call | 2-4 hours |
| 2. Free site visit | Site notes + initial mood board | Within 48 hours |
| 3. Brief lock | Signed scope document + budget tier | 3-5 days |
| 4. Concept design | 3 concept boards (palette + materials) | 5-7 days |
| 5. Detailed design + 3D renders | 3D walkthrough + material samples | 10-14 days |
| 6. Cost lock + contract | Itemised quote + 7-stage payment plan | 3-5 days |
| 7. Civil + electrical execution | Wall mods, wiring, plumbing chase | 14-18 days |
| 8. Modular install + carpentry | Kitchen, wardrobes, false ceiling | 12-16 days |
| 9. Finishes + paint + lighting | Tiles, polish, paint, lighting install | 10-14 days |
| 10. Handover + warranty start | Final walk-through + warranty card + manuals | 1-2 days |

Frequently asked
What happens if a step takes longer than planned?
We notify you in writing within 24 hours of the delay, with reason and new ETA. If the delay is on our side, the next milestone shifts; payment for that milestone shifts with it. If the delay is on your side (e.g. material choice not made), we hold the schedule but the start date for the next step moves with your decision date.
Can I add scope mid-project?
Yes — through a written change-order. We document the addition, cost impact, and timeline impact. You sign before we proceed. No surprises at handover; no "you said yes verbally" arguments. This is the single biggest source of dispute in interior projects, and a clean change-order process eliminates it.
What if I'm unhappy with the 3D render?
We do up to 3 free 3D revisions before final lock. Each revision typically takes 4-6 days. Beyond 3, additional revisions are Rs 5,000 each — fair to both sides. Most projects lock at revision 2; we plan for 3 to give comfortable headroom.
