Bathroom renovation in Greater Noida — from Rs 80,000 to luxury

A well-renovated bathroom lasts 15+ years; a poorly renovated one leaks into the flat below within 2. Waterproofing, not tile choice, is where bathroom renovation succeeds or fails. Bathroom renovation pricing — 2026 Greater Noida

• Basic renovation (30 sqft bathroom) — Rs 80,000: demolition, basic waterproofing, standard vitrified tiles on floor and walls, standard Jaquar / Hindware fittings, basic vanity, no luxury extras.
• Mid-tier renovation — Rs 1,50,000: chemical + membrane waterproofing, premium vitrified or ceramic tiles, Jaquar premium fittings or Hindware premium, walk-in shower with glass partition, proper vanity with mirror cabinet, LED mirror, exhaust fan with auto-on moisture sensor.
• Luxury renovation — Rs 3,00,000+: imported marble or large-format tiles, Kohler / Roca premium fittings, rain shower + hand shower + body jets, designer vanity with stone top, smart mirror, heated flooring (optional), shower glass enclosure, LED mood lighting.

Pricing assumes single standard 30-40 sqft bathroom. Larger bathrooms, master ensuite with bathtub, or his-and-hers layouts are quoted separately.

What a proper bathroom renovation includes

1. Demolition and preparation

Existing tile removal (floor + walls), vanity removal, all sanitary fixture removal, plumbing assessment, electrical point audit, debris bagging and society-compliant disposal. Typical 1-2 days for a standard bathroom.

2. Plumbing rework

CPVC pipe replacement where existing pipes are corroded (Supreme / Astral / Finolex). Shower mixer positioning, flush tank connection, sink outlet, diverter location — all set before tiling. Drain slope correctly set so water flows to floor drain, not to the door.

3. Waterproofing — the make-or-break step

Three layers in sequence:

• Sunken floor chemical waterproofing (Dr. Fixit, Fosroc, or Pidilite systems). Applied over concrete slab before any tiling begins.
• Membrane layer — fibre mesh embedded between waterproof coats for crack-resistance.
• Slope verification — water must drain to the floor drain within 2-3 seconds. Verified with a bucket test before tiling.

Wall waterproofing extends 18-24 inches up all walls in wet zones, full height behind the shower wall. This is where cheap renovations cut corners — and leak into the flat below 18 months later.

4. Electrical rework

All electrical points in a bathroom must be IP44+ rated (moisture-protected). Separate exhaust fan circuit, shaver point, geyser point, mirror light, false-ceiling light — all on MCB-protected circuits. Havells / Anchor Roma / Schneider switches and fittings.

5. Tiling

Floor tiles should be anti-skid (matte finish or textured); wall tiles can be glossy for easy cleaning. Common options: Kajaria, Somany, Johnson, Orient Bell. Grout lines sealed with epoxy grout (not cement grout — cement stains in 2 years). Dark grout hides dirt; light grout looks cleaner but needs more maintenance.

6. Vanity, mirror, fittings installation

Vanity can be wall-mounted (looks floating, makes small bathrooms feel bigger) or floor-standing (more storage). Mirror cabinet with integrated shelves. Jaquar basin faucet, Hindware basin, toilet (wall-hung saves floor space; floor-mount easier to service). Shower area: mixer + diverter + rain shower + hand shower.

7. Accessories and finishing

Towel rails, tumbler holder, toilet roll holder, robe hook — all in matching finish (chrome, matte black, antique brass depending on aesthetic). Exhaust fan installation (Havells, Crompton, Bajaj). False ceiling with LED lighting. Final paint or waterproof coating where walls are visible above tile level.

8. Snag-list closure

Drain speed test, shower spray angle check, water pressure at every outlet, electrical point verification, tile flatness, grout continuity. Anything found goes on a written snag list and gets closed before handover.

Timeline

• Single 30-40 sqft bathroom: 10-15 working days (subject to tile availability and society access windows)
• Two bathrooms in parallel: 15-18 working days (not double — we sequence for workflow)
• Master ensuite with bathtub or his-and-hers: 18-25 working days
• Complex structural change (wall move, new window): add 5-10 days

Common bathroom renovation mistakes we prevent

• Inadequate waterproofing. Single-coat cement slurry is not waterproofing. We do 3-layer chemical + membrane.
• Wrong floor slope. If water pools near the door, the drain is wrong. We bucket-test before tiling.
• Cement grout. Stains black/green in 2 years. Epoxy grout lasts 10+ years.
• Cheap CPVC joining. Under-cured CPVC joints leak slowly for months before you notice.
• No exhaust fan or undersized fan. Bathroom humidity damages paint, grows mould, ruins vanity.
• Generic fittings. No-name chrome fittings chip and rust in 18 months. Brand warranty is real.
• No master shut-off valve. Can’t isolate the bathroom for service without shutting down the whole flat.
• Wrong tile size for floor. Large-format tiles on a sloped floor cause crack lines. Use 2×2 or 1×1 for wet areas.
